I've been meaning to put this pic on here for a while because I saw that Alysha had carved an owl in her pumpkin last year as well. My pumpkin had a short life this year...I had placed it outside our apartment building to share with the neighbors and the kids sure did enjoy it. After coming home one night after work and noticing the pumpkin was no longer sitting on our stoop, I walked in side and found a note from Jana our neighbor upstairs. The note stated that she was in her apartment and was watching her boys and a couple of the neighbor boys play around the stoop outside, then she realized that they were playing with the pumpkin and she ran down to stop them from ruining it...but it was too late. By the time she got there one of the boys had jumped directly on it. She felt terrible and had each boy pay $2 of their own money to pay for their actions.

Flowers of Friends
While walking through the triage nurses station at work I saw my coworker and friend Taci. I had a thought that "Taci" if it were a flower would be quiet beautiful. So I decided to make the Taci flower.
While discussing with Taci the ideas that had popped into my head in regards to her flower, our mutual coworker and friend Leslie stated she would like a flower after her name too. Great inspiration for two specific pieces!
I have worked on these two pieces over a couple weeks going in and manipulating them and then coming back at a later time and working them over completely. I have introduces some new design work that scared me at first but I have grown to love it.

Playing Around
My brother called me up the other day and requested me to work up a caricature for him to use for his facebook profile picture. The Kansas Jayhawk holding a bat standing behind a Kansas State Wildcat saying "Here Kitty Kitty!". This is what I came up with.

Life As It Is
I have now been working in medical records for about two months. Although this isn't what I had planned for my career life after college I do believe there is a reason for it. My temporary time there will be used for building my savings as well as building relationships. It has also made me realize that I have to make an effort to create art on my down time. Perseverance and hope for future opportunities is what my focus is on as well as whatever God wants for my life right now in these moments of uncertainty.
